Website use of cookies by Lancaster-LM658.co.uk
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site.
The table below explains the cookies we use and why.
Cookie: AllowCookies
Name: civicAllowCookies
Purpose: These are used by our website’s internal software to determine if the viewer has opted in or out of accepting cookies from the site.
Cookie: WordPress
Name: wp-settings-1, wp-settings-time-1, wordpress_test_cookie, wordpress_logged_in
Purpose: These are used by our website’s internal software to ensure the site displays correctly for the viewer. They hold no personally identifiable information.
Cookie: PHPSESSID
Name: Session Cookie
Purpose: These are used by our website’s internal software. The PHPSESSID cookie is native to PHP and enables websites to store serialised state data. On the LM658 website it is used to establish a user session and to pass state data via a temporary cookie, which is commonly referred to as a session cookie. As the PHPSESSID cookie has no timed expiry, it disappears when the client is closed.
Cookie: AddThis
Name: _atuvc
Purpose: The _atuvc cookie is created and read by the AddThis social sharing site JavaScript on the client side in order to make sure the user sees the updated count if they share a page and return to it before our share count cache is updated. No data from that cookie is sent back to AddThis and removing it when disabling cookies would cause unexpected behavior for users
Cookie: Google Analytics
Name: _utma, _utmb, _utmc, _utmv, _utmz
Purpose: These cookies are used to collect information about how visitors use our site, which we use to help improve it. The cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the site, where visitors have come to the site from and the pages they visited.
